Chubby Tan is a groundbreaking co-branded restaurant concept that brings Japan’s famed Sendai-style beef tongue cuisine to American shores. This partnership unites Gyutan no Lemon, a celebrated Japanese beef tongue specialist with multiple popular locations and Chubby Group, the concept’s exclusive U.S. distributor and strategic partner.
Gyutan no Lemon was founded in 2018 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, specializing in thick-cut beef tongue dishes. The original store, Shinjuku Yakiniku Gyutan no Lemon Sohonten, is located in Nishi-Shinjuku and has gained popularity for its signature “Kiwami” thick-cut beef tongue steak, grilled over Binchotan charcoal. In September 2024, the brand expanded by opening its first directly managed store outside Tokyo in Osaka’s Namba district. This growth reflects the increasing demand for their authentic Sendai-style beef tongue cuisine.
